Decodo vs Oxylabs: Mobile Proxy Pricing, Sessions and AI Workflows

For Decodo versus Oxylabs, start with a specific product and workload. Both sell mobile proxy access as well as other data products. The current mobile pricing pages show different commitments, so compare the total amount needed for your traffic and session requirements before considering vendor performance claims.

Check before choosing a plan

  • Compare mobile plans with mobile plans; residential and managed scraping prices answer different questions.
  • Record the billing commitment beside the per-gigabyte rate.
  • Use a matched pilot for reliability and latency; this article contains no vendor performance benchmark.

Choose the product before comparing the vendors

Decodoโ€™s mobile offering and Oxylabsโ€™ mobile offering both describe carrier-network access with location and session controls. Their other proxy categories and managed data services need separate comparisons.

A brandโ€™s total pool size does not tell you how many usable routes exist for one selected country, carrier and time. Specify the actual requirement before using a global marketing number in a buying decision. We do not turn either vendorโ€™s advertised success rate into an independently measured result.

Coronium publishes this comparison and sells a competing mobile service. The article reviews current documentation and pricing as of October 11, 2026; it does not declare a universal winner.

Compare current mobile commitments

Dated public price references, not a checkout quote or performance ranking.
Mobile referenceDisplayed commitmentWhat to verify
Decodo entry subscription$7.50/month for 2 GB, plus VATPromotion and renewal terms
Decodo PAYG$4/GB, plus VATPurchased traffic and account terms
Oxylabs Starter$30/month; $7.50/GB; up to 4 GBCurrent checkout and consumption terms
Higher-volume planDepends on the selected tierTotal commitment, not only the headline rate

The Decodo price page showed a discounted 2 GB monthly plan for $7.50 plus VAT and a pay-as-you-go rate of $4/GB plus VAT. Those are dated displayed offers, subject to the applicable checkout and renewal terms.

The Oxylabs price page showed Starter at $30/month, with a displayed mobile rate of $7.50/GB and up to 4 GB. It also showed higher plans with different rates. Its welcome credit is a testing allowance, not recurring production traffic.

Use the actual bill for the traffic you expect to consume. For a small project, an inexpensive unit rate tied to a large commitment may cost more than a flexible plan. For a sustained workload, session behavior and usable-result yield can outweigh a small rate difference.

Check a complete session rather than one successful request

Oxylabsโ€™ session-control help documents a sessid- parameter in the proxy authentication string. A session identifier is configuration for the selected proxy product; it is not the destination websiteโ€™s login or an assurance of permanent address ownership.

For either vendor, test the required sequence: initial connection, authenticated request, follow-up requests and interruption recovery. Observe the route from the same client that performs the task. An IP check from a separate terminal cannot establish the route used by a browser running elsewhere.

Keep credentials out of request logs and make authentication failures visible. Our Python Requests guide covers the distinction between proxy and origin authentication. The Playwright guide explains how context creation and rotation interact with browser sessions.

Evaluate targeting and availability with a bounded sample

Write down the country and any narrower network requirement before running a test. Check the actual observed route and whether the required target permits your access. Do not infer a specific carrier or city from a broad product label.

Use the same inputs, timing window and request budget for both candidates. Define success as the expected permitted result, not merely an HTTP 200 response that could contain a challenge page. Record connection errors and incomplete results alongside successful requests.

If a destination rejects both services, examine the account, request format and access rules before buying more traffic. A proxy cannot grant an API entitlement or make an unavailable dataset available. The IP diagnosis guide helps separate those failures.

Separate proxy access from managed AI data products

Decodoโ€™s MCP server documentation describes a connection to its scraping infrastructure. If an AI tool calls that service, evaluate its output and request billing separately from a raw mobile endpoint.

For an AI worker that controls its own browser, the immediate requirements are supported proxy configuration, bounded actions and a clear session lifecycle. Select the exact Oxylabs or Decodo product used by the worker; the company name alone does not specify whether you are paying for bytes, requests or a managed browser.

Keep a record of the source URL, retrieval time and checks applied to returned data. Treat web content as input to the task, without letting it change credentials or approve new destinations. If your worker needs a supported data API rather than network routing, compare that API directly.

Choose using cost per accepted result

For a useful pilot, track total charge, transferred bytes, accepted results, latency distribution and operator effort. Divide cost by accepted results only after defining what a valid result means. Keep the sample small enough to inspect failures manually.

Select the service whose tested behavior meets your required route, session and budget. Do not infer that a lower listed price is a better operational result, or that a larger enterprise plan will solve a client-configuration bug.

If the real requirement is a dedicated mobile connection, add that product model to the evaluation. The broader mobile provider guide and Decodo-versus-Coronium comparison explain the additional allocation and cost questions.

Sources and review scope

Sources reviewed October 11, 2026. Coronium publishes this comparison and sells a competing mobile proxy service. Vendor documentation and public prices were checked on October 11, 2026. We did not run a cross-provider performance benchmark. Prices, availability and account terms require verification at purchase.
