Can You Have Multiple eBay Accounts?
Yes. eBay's own policy says members may have multiple accounts, for buying, selling or separate lines of business. What it forbids is using another account to get around a restriction, a limit or unpaid fees, and it can extend a restriction on one account to the accounts it links to it.
The short version
- eBay allows several accounts per member, and the same buying and selling policies apply to every one of them.
- Opening or using another account to avoid restrictions, limits or fees is not allowed.
- If eBay restricts one account, it may apply similar restrictions to the member's other linked accounts.
- eBay keeps account details, including names, email and IP addresses and bank details, to trace new accounts back to restricted ones.
- For staff, use eBay's Team access instead of sharing one login.
What eBay's policy says
The multiple accounts policy is short and clear, read on October 30, 2026:
- Members may have multiple accounts on eBay, and buying and selling policies apply equally to all of them.
- Registering new accounts, or using other existing accounts, to avoid buying or selling restrictions or limits is not allowed, and neither is using accounts to avoid paying eBay fees.
- If eBay restricts or limits one account, similar restrictions may be applied to the member's other linked accounts.
- Before using other accounts again, a member must follow eBay's steps to bring the restricted account back into good standing.
- If you think eBay linked your accounts in error, the policy says to contact eBay to appeal.
Every account also has to meet eBay's seller standards policy, which sets minimum performance standards for all sellers. A second account does not reset a weak record; it splits your sales into two records that are each judged.
Linked accounts and suspensions
eBay is unusually direct about how linking works. Its seller guide on what to do if your account is blocked says eBay keeps account information, including the seller's name, mail and IP addresses and bank details, so it can trace new accounts to accounts that are restricted or suspended. The same page advises against opening a new account straight away, and says that once suspensions or restrictions are resolved, you can open an additional account or more than one eBay Store.
The practical reading: a second account is fine when the first is in good standing. It becomes a problem when it is opened to escape a restriction, because the details that connect the two are exactly the ones eBay records.
The same guide notes that a first suspension for a policy violation is usually not indefinite, while repeating the same violation after a warning can lead to an indefinite one. Fixing the cause on the original account is almost always the faster route back to selling.
Signals that link accounts
| Signal | Same seller, two accounts | Two businesses, one team |
|---|---|---|
| Legal name and payout | Same, accurate | Each business its own |
| Email and phone | One per account | One per account, owned by that business |
| Browser session | Separate profile per account | Separate profile per account |
| Network | Your normal connection | A steady connection per business |
eBay does not publish its full linking model, but the signals below are either named by eBay or are ordinary account data every marketplace holds:
- Identity and payout: legal name, address, phone number, bank account and the card used for seller fees.
- Contact details: email addresses and phone numbers, including ones reused after an account is closed.
- Network: the IP addresses used to sign in and list, which eBay names in its own guide.
- Device and browser: cookies and saved sessions left by signing in to two accounts in the same browser.
- Listings and shipping: identical item descriptions, photos, return addresses and shipping labels.
For two legitimate accounts of the same person, such as one for buying and one for a business, most of these will match, and that is acceptable under the policy. Separation matters when the accounts belong to different people or businesses that share an office, a team or a computer.
A setup for sellers with more than one account
- Make sure every existing account is in good standing before you open another. Clear any restriction through eBay's steps first.
- Give each account a clear purpose: buying, a second product line, another country, or a separate business.
- Use Team access for employees and assistants. The owner invites people with specific Seller Hub permissions, such as drafting listings or printing labels, and they sign in with their own eBay account and two-step verification. Nobody needs the owner's password.
- Keep one browser profile per account so cookies and sessions never cross.
- For separate businesses run by one team, give each its own steady network connection. A dedicated mobile line is one physical device with its own SIM rented to one customer, so the IP is not shared with other Coronium customers and changes only when you ask it to.
- Keep listings original per account. Copying the same photos and descriptions across accounts makes them look like one seller splitting inventory.
The page on mobile proxies for eBay covers listing checks and price research by country, and proxies for ecommerce work covers other marketplaces.
Sources and review scope
Sources reviewed October 30, 2026. Platform rules were read on each platform's own help center, terms or policy pages, and every citation names the page. Platforms rewrite these pages without notice, so check the linked source before acting on it. A separate network line removes one linking signal; it is not a promise that an account will never be restricted, because each platform enforces its own rules.

Where to get a dedicated line
A Coronium mobile proxy is one physical device with its own SIM, rented to one customer. It connects over HTTP or SOCKS5, the IP changes by dashboard button, API link or timer, and data is not metered on dedicated lines. Brazil lines are the exception: 20 GB of data a month and a new IP on request only, with no timer. Stock and prices differ by country and carrier.
