How to Upload Videos on Reddit + Manage Multiple Reddit Accounts
Reddit video upload limits, why uploads fail, link-based posting workarounds, and the cloud-phone + mobile-proxy stack for safely running multiple Reddit accounts.
Reddit is one of the largest content-sharing platforms on the internet — a vital channel for brand promotion, traffic acquisition and community building. Whether you're a cross-border e-commerce seller, a content creator, or a team handling external linkage and brand visibility, Reddit's subreddit-based structure gives you direct access to highly engaged audiences. Video posts in particular tend to outperform text and link posts on engagement, but Reddit imposes strict format and size limits, and operating multiple accounts cleanly is a separate problem of its own. TL;DR — What this guide covers
Reddit accepts MP4/MOV under 1GB and 15 minutes via the "Image and Video" post type. If uploads fail, it's usually subreddit restrictions, app permissions, file specs, or multi-account/IP signals. For NSFW or video-restricted communities, post a link from YouTube/Vimeo/Imgur instead. To run multiple Reddit accounts safely, give each account its own isolated environment (cloud phone) bound to its own dedicated 4G/5G mobile IP — one account, one device, one IP.

Why upload videos on Reddit?
Reddit is a community platform organised around themed subreddits — sub-communities that revolve around specific topics like tech, gaming, AI, e-commerce, finance, and so on. Each subreddit usually has its own moderation rules, and quality content tends to surface through upvotes rather than ad spend. Compared to plain text or link posts, video content tends to draw more attention and longer dwell time.
- •Higher engagement. Videos are upvoted and commented on more often than equivalent text or link posts.
- •Account credibility. Native videos showcase products, tutorials and POVs more directly than link sharing — which Reddit frequently treats as spammy.
- •Safer for interactive traffic. "Video + comment engagement" reads as community participation, which is far less risky than direct link drops.
- •Account nurturing. High-quality video posts help mature a subreddit-resident account — the slow build that survives algorithm sweeps.
6-step Reddit video upload
For registered Reddit accounts, uploading a video natively takes about a minute. Same flow on web and mobile, with one caveat — some subreddits disable direct video uploads entirely.
- 1
Open the Reddit app or reddit.com
Make sure you're logged into the account you want to post from.
- 2
Click "Create Post"
Top-right corner of the Reddit interface — the same on web and the mobile app.
- 3
Pick a suitable subreddit
Pick a subreddit that allows video posts and matches your topic. If "Image and Video" is greyed out, it's blocked there.
- 4
Select "Image and Video" + upload
Pick the Image and Video post type, then select the MP4 or MOV file from your device.
- 5
Write a captivating title
Reddit ranking starts with the title — make it specific, hook-driven and on-topic for the subreddit.
- 6
Click "Post"
Reddit re-encodes the video on its side. Once processing finishes, the post is live in the subreddit feed.

If "Image and Video" is greyed out or unselectable, the subreddit doesn't allow direct video uploads. Switch to the Link post type and paste a video URL from YouTube, Vimeo or Imgur instead — see the link method section below.
Why can't I upload videos on Reddit?
Beyond subreddit-specific restrictions, Reddit video uploads can fail for four common reasons. Each has a specific fix.
| Issue | What's happening | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No file picker on mobile | Reddit app missing photos / storage permission. | Device Settings → Apps → Reddit → enable Photos / Media / Storage. Restart the Reddit app. |
| File rejected at upload | Video exceeds limits — over 1GB, longer than 15 minutes, or not MP4/MOV. | Compress to under 1GB, trim under 15 min, export as MP4 (H.264) or MOV. Skip 4K and ultra-high-bitrate masters. |
| Upload screen hangs | Reddit app version compatibility issue or stale cache. | Clear Reddit app cache and log out / log back in. If it persists, uninstall and reinstall the app. |
| Account-level upload block | Reddit triggered a rate-limit or anti-spam action — often after multi-account signals or shared IPs. | Stop running multiple accounts on one device or one IP. Move to one account per browser/cloud-phone bound to a dedicated mobile IP. |
The first three are software issues — fixable in a few minutes. The fourth one is structural: if your Reddit account is being throttled because Reddit linked it to other accounts on the same device or IP, tweaking the upload won't help. The next sections cover the multi-account problem directly.
How to post a video to Reddit using a link
When a subreddit blocks direct video posts (very common in NSFW or strictly moderated communities), you can still get a video preview by posting an external link. Reddit auto-renders embeds for major hosts.
- 1
Upload to a video host first
YouTube, Vimeo, Imgur or Gfycat-style hosts all work. Make the video publicly viewable.
- 2
Log in to Reddit and Create Post
Same Create Post button as the native upload flow.
- 3
Pick the subreddit
Use a subreddit that allows link posts — most do, even those that block direct video.
- 4
Select "Link"
Pick the Link post type instead of Image and Video.
- 5
Paste the URL
Reddit auto-pulls a thumbnail and player preview from the host.
- 6
Add title and Post
Title still does the heavy lifting on ranking. Click Post.

After you publish a video post, actively reply to comments and engage with discussion — Reddit weights early engagement heavily in subreddit ranking, and active comment threads are one of the strongest signals that a post is "good content" rather than drive-by spam.
Why multiple Reddit accounts are hard to manage
When you operate more than two or three Reddit accounts, the problem stops being "how do I switch accounts" and starts being "how do I prevent Reddit from linking them together." Reddit looks at three correlation signals to decide whether multiple accounts are the same operator:
- •Device fingerprint. Cookies, localStorage, browser fingerprint (canvas, WebGL, fonts), device IDs on mobile. Sharing a device across accounts is a direct link.
- •IP / network signals. ASN, IP reputation, geo, port patterns. Multiple accounts on one IP — or rotating through the same residential pool — is the single loudest ban trigger.
- •Behaviour patterns. Identical posting cadence, the same links across accounts, bursts of upvotes from a cluster — Reddit's anti-spam stack correlates patterns over time.
The first two signals are infrastructure — solvable with the right tooling. The third is operational discipline. Most account losses come from getting the infrastructure wrong, so that's the part worth investing in first.
Cloud phone × mobile proxy — the multi-account stack
The cleanest pattern for running many Reddit accounts is one isolated Android environment per account, each bound to its own dedicated 4G/5G mobile IP. Using DuoPlus Cloud Phone combined with Coronium.io proxies covers both halves: isolated device-level state plus a real-carrier IP each Reddit account treats as its "home" connection.
Cloud phone (DuoPlus)
- One Reddit account per cloud phone — isolated cookies, storage, device IDs.
- Each cloud phone is a distinct Android environment with its own IMEI/MEID and GAID.
- One-click Reddit app install on every cloud phone.
- Higher compatibility and stability than emulators for long-term Reddit operations.
Mobile proxy (Coronium.io)
- Each cloud phone is bound to its own dedicated 4G/5G port.
- Real carrier ASN — much harder to flag than datacenter or shared residential pools.
- 20+ countries, REST v3 API for automated port allocation.
- Replacement credits if a port's reputation degrades.

Compared to physical devices or emulators, cloud phones offer higher compatibility and security for long-term Reddit operations. They also support managing multiple accounts and uploading content simultaneously, helping you better control operating time and efficiency.
Pushing video files into a cloud phone (DuoPlus)
When you're uploading the same video from multiple Reddit accounts, you don't want to re-record it on every cloud phone. DuoPlus has a Cloud Drive feature that lets you push files into one or many cloud phones at once.
- 1
Log in to DuoPlus
Open the cloud phone you want to upload files to.

- 2
Click "Cloud Drive"
Upload the local video files to your cloud storage area.

reddit1.mp4, reddit2.mp4, reddit3.mp4) into the upload zone — file names must use letters, numbers, -, . or_ only.- 3
Select files → "BatchPush"
Pick the videos you want to push to one or several cloud phones.

- 4
Pick target cloud phones
Enter target cloud phone IDs, or click "Select Cloud Phone" to pick from the list.

- 5
Send
Choose batch or single delivery, preview the sending status, and confirm.

One account → one cloud phone → one mobile IP
That mapping is what makes Reddit treat each account as a separate user on a separate phone on a separate carrier connection. No shared cookies, no shared device IDs, no shared IP — the three correlation paths Reddit uses are all broken cleanly.
Scaling Reddit operations safely
Once you stabilise the per-account stack, scale comes from operations rather than infrastructure: vary posting times across accounts, rotate which subreddits each account participates in, comment before posting (commenting accounts get higher trust faster than posting-only accounts), and avoid fan-out patterns where the same link appears across many accounts in a short window. For agencies and teams running fleets of Reddit accounts, the Coronium reseller program adds REST API port allocation, white-label per-port credentials, replacement credits and four-tier wholesale pricing — matching the operational shape of multi-account workflows.
